Tower-based systems are still the most cost-effective wireless broadband delivery system available. Where time permits, or towers are already in existence, these systems can be employed for deployment of wireless broadband for ranges up to 50 miles or more per tower, allowing extensive coverage at a relatively low-cost for high-speed broadband delivery systems.

Tower-based systems also provide lower operation and maintenance costs over the life of a wireless broadband system and are conducive to densely populated areas where aircraft may not be as cost-effective.
